Made from solid, untreated brass, the Kaweco Sketch Up mechanical pencil is a beautifully weighty drawing tool that develops a rich, unique patina over time. Designed for both technical and artistic work, it uses a wide 5.6 mm lead in soft 5B, ideal for bold, expressive lines and smooth shading.
The precision mechanism securely holds the lead in place, while the push-button top cleverly doubles as a sharpener, perfect for on-the-go use. The Sketch Up comes pre-loaded with graphite but can also be refilled with coloured or highlighter leads, making it a versatile tool for sketching, note-making, or marking up text. Comes with a metal gift tin.
Why we like it: A beautiful, weighty, solid pencil that feels like a tool for life. We love the soft, expressive line from the wide 5.6 mm lead. The raw brass body will change colour with use, making each one totally unique. A proper object for drawing, writing, or just keeping close at hand.

It was recommended to me by someone and having used Arches I found it was a good cheaper alternative. It worked well with granulating paints.

Tracedown is a product I have used before. This pack was reasonably priced, and arrived in good condition and very quickly. Thank you.

As always, Arches oil painting paper is wonderful especially for oil & cold wax medium work where layering & texture is king!

I bought this brush some time ago based on a recommendation from someone— can't remember who though. I then forgot about it until I received a request to write a review from The Southbank Art Company. I've now tried it, and I've found it to be a lovely brush to use. It lays down the paint beautifully. It also holds a lot of paint enabling continued use without having to return to the palette so often. The point of the brush is good too, giving a lovely narrow lines where necessary.
I'll continue to use this brush, and will probably look at buying other sizes too.
