What is a book mount?
Book mounts have a hinged top mount that opens like a book - really handy for pieces you want to look at often or change regularly. Your artwork sits between the top mount and a conservation-quality undermount, so it's protected but easy to access when you need it.
What materials do you use for mounts?
We use conservation-grade mountboard - acid-free and archival quality. It's the same stuff museums use, so your artwork stays protected for years. Standard thickness is 1.5mm, which gives good stability and looks professional.
How accurate are your measurements?
We cut to within 0.5mm of your dimensions using precision equipment. That's accurate enough that your artwork will fit perfectly and look professional. Just measure your artwork carefully and double-check the numbers before ordering - it saves everyone time.
What's the difference between window and frame sizing?
Window + Borders: You tell us your artwork size and how wide you want the borders. We work out the total mount size.
Window + Frame: You give us your artwork size and total frame size. We calculate centered borders automatically - handy when you've got a specific frame to fit.
How long does production take?
All orders are processed and shipped within 2 working days. Need it faster? We can do express production for urgent orders - just contact us directly.
Can I collect my order from your store?
Yes! Collection from our London Road store is free. Just select "Collect in Store" at checkout and we'll let you know when it's ready. We're open Monday to Friday 9:30am-5:30pm and Saturday 11am-5pm.
What if my mount doesn't fit my frame?
We guarantee satisfaction. If your mount doesn't fit because we got it wrong, we'll remake it free. If the measurements you gave us were off, we can usually sort it out for a small fee. Just contact us within 7 days of delivery.
Do you offer custom shapes or beveled edges?
Our online configurator handles standard rectangular mounts with beveled edges. Need something different - oval windows, custom shapes, or special requirements? Just contact us directly. We can usually sort out most custom requests for a small extra fee.
What's the minimum and maximum size you can make?
Our online configurator handles mounts from 10mm to 800mm in any dimension. The total mount size (including borders) can't exceed 1000mm in any direction. Need something bigger or have special requirements? Just contact us directly for a custom quote.
Do you offer volume pricing for bulk orders?
Yes! We do competitive volume pricing for orders of hundreds or thousands of mounts. We've worked with galleries, museums, exhibitions, and corporate installations - so we know how to handle large projects.
